NG Art Creative Residency

A home away from home, NG Art Creative Residency is an international multi-disciplinary creative residency that offers a place of respite, nourishment and enlightenment for creatives who seek to enrich their artistic process away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life. Based a few kilometres from the historical village of Eygalières in Provence, Southern France, in a charming 15th century homestead, Mas des Pelerins.

NG Art Creative Residency is directed and run by long-standing gallerist, curator, entrepreneur and director Nicky Ginsberg. Born in London, schooled at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, and University of Sydney to undertake a BA in Art History.
Whether utilizing the large studio space at Mas des Pelerins or creating en plein air in Provence, ignite your imagination amongst the olive groves, reclining in a hammock, beneath the fig tree or a secret location of your own. It’s hard not to be inspired in the epicentre of art, culture and creative spirit. Immortalised by the greats, the memories of Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Frédéric Mistral, Alphonse Daudet, Joseph Roumanille and Marie Mauron live on within the sun-kissed meadows, sweeping hills, red poppy fields and jasmine-scented cobbled streets.

Creatives will have the opportunity to feast from dawn to dusk. Together, local chefs and Madame Ginsberg source ingredients for the local markets, exhibit their culinary skillset, and impart their knowledge of food and authentic French cuisine. Here you can taste the fruits of their labor, one ingredient at a time, and lend a helping hand so that you too can create creative and culinary masterpieces.

At the end of your stay you have the opportunity to present your body of work, script, performance, composition, or piece of writing, over a celebratory feast for all of the senses.
Residency Creatives can engage with the local artist community at evening soirées, feasts for the senses, workshops, and over Côte de Provence Rosès at local vineyards.
The NG Art Creative Residency is open from September to May each year. There are three different packages available and the preferred length of stay is 3, 4 or 6 weeks.

Aixcentric

IMG_1693Meet Lynne who will explain in her own words why she created Aixcentric her super-informative, popular blog all about Aix en Provence and the surrounding area.

Aixcentric is a locally-based blog, now in its sixth year of rounding up news, good places to eat, fun places to visit, travel news, book and film reviews…and often complaints about local toilets ( lack of!)….anything and everything that will interest people living in and around Aix. It was started out of exasperation with the tourist authorities who seemed reluctant to communicate, despite lots of interesting things happening in the area. Local communications are improving slowly but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the blog and find it useful. www.aixcentric.com

Perfectly Provence

IMG_0176Meet Carolyne Kauser-Abbott whose company  Edible Heritage Technologies she explains  is where I focus on freelance writing (Ginger and Nutmeg and Perfectly Provence ), e-commerce (Atelier) and social media consulting.

What has been your most satisfying moment in your business?

No question, being an entrepreneur can be lonely business. Those moments when I receive positive feedback from readers, contributors and strangers, are the times that I remember why I am doing the work in the first place.

What is your goal for this year?

My goal for 2015 was to launch my e-commerce website showcasing artisan creators. Atelier launched in November 2015 with a focus on Canadian Artisans (for now). As a result, my 2016 goal is to continue searching for quality artisans and featuring their handcrafted, traditional inspired products.

In 2016, my goal for Perfectly Provence is to continue featuring fabulous content writers who love Provence as much as I do.

Continuing to build my social media consulting practice.

Has Network Provence had any positive effects on your business ?

Definitely! I was not sure what to think the first blustery day that I drove to meet Rebecca and a group of women that I had never met before. In fact I thought what am I doing? Do I have time for this? However the moment that I was greeted by Rebecca, I realized that the benefits of a group, the chance for open discussion and the opportunity to meet new people are priceless. Network Provence has allowed me to listen to others, talk through ideas and expand my network of friends.
